The new Restonic SA logo

The new Restonic SA logo

Restonic SA is a Proudly South African brand with a strong foothold in Africa and we’ve decided to update our logo to reflect this. You’ll see that we’ve incorporated the shape of Africa into the “o” in Restonic – symbolic of our commitment to Africa and the positive future for the continent, which we’re dedicated to helping to create.

“We love South Africa and our continent and will continue to support local manufacturing and to grow our African footprint,” explains Dale Harley, Restonic SA Executive: Sales & Marketing. “Our goal is to be the most trusted bedding brand in Southern Africa, promoting a healthier life through better sleep, and making dreams a reality.”

The new logo speaks to both our brand promises – retail and consumer:

  • RETAIL BRAND PROMISE: Restonic is the go-to brand for retailers in Southern Africa looking for a bedding partner that is more responsive and provides greater value, because our retailers’ success is our top priority.
  • CONSUMER BRAND PROMISE: Restonic is guided by the principle that getting a healthy night’s sleep is a right, not a privilege. This means that every Restonic mattress is crafted with better quality materials and greater attention to detail than comparably priced mattresses on the market.

Our commitment to Africa

Restonic has the largest bedding factory in sub-Saharan Africa, located in Johannesburg. Restonic manufactures beds in five strategically positioned locations throughout South Africa and Namibia, supplying innovative products to leading bedding and furniture retailers. We were established in 1938 and have built up skills and experience over our decades in the business.

“We are an integrated bedding business listed on the JSE under the KAP Group, comprising Restonic, Vitafoam, DesleeMattex, Vitatex and Connacher,” explains Dale. “Restonic is the only integrated bedding manufacturer in South Africa. In other words, we manufacture almost all our components, from the mattress fabric (DesleeMattex) and the foam (Vitafoam) to all the springs, bed-bases, and so on. We also manufacture the EPE mattress side and corner supports, as well as the Spunbond material that covers pocket springs, base tops, and mattress bottoms (Vitatex). We are also a go-green business and actively recycle fabric (Connacher).”

R&D (research and development) is key in mattress manufacture, as ranges are constantly being developed to meet specific price points and market needs. “Our integrated nature creates the ability for us to develop and innovate very quickly,” says Dale. “Our joint venture with Bekaert Deslee, the world’s leading mattress fabric manufacturer, also gives us an edge.”

Beyond its continuous investment in the local economy, Restonic is also committed to sustainability in South Africa, and everywhere it operates. All its manufacturing facilities prioritise environmental consciousness, including grey water systems, natural lighting, borehole water and energy-saving systems. We believe in a zero-waste policy and recycling of offcuts at each step in our manufacturing process. “We also now source 30% of the raw material we use from recycled materials,” Dale adds. “We really want to be a good corporate citizen and to help build a better future for South Africa.”

There is a competition running on the Restonic SA Facebook page until 29 April 2021 where readers have a chance to win a Restonic bed valued at R8999 by sharing their thoughts on our new logo. Head on over there to have your say.
